Winter is here! This year it’s taken a little longer than usual to arrive, but thankfully, there is finally a nip in the air. Now if you live in Mumbai, you would know that a single sweater is enough to survive the city’s barely-cold weather. Unlike other places, we don’t have the privilege of shopping for a fresh new winter wardrobe.  I often wish that weren’t the case because I’m extremely fond of structured coats and stylish cardigans! This time, however, I didn’t have to settle with boring options.

Miss Bennett London has an interesting assortment of sartorial delights available on Jabong*, to add that much-needed zing to your closet. Jabong’s winter collection is replete with chic blazers, patterned sweaters, and even wool kurtas! So this season, I’m doing a 2-part story with pieces from the brand. Here’s presenting the 1st look!

The minute I laid my eyes on Miss Bennett London’s winter wear, I lost my heart to this knitted polo dress. The striped collar and 3/4th sleeves create a sporty-luxe vibe, which is perfect for an effortless day-look!

Sporty chic is the new black! I felt like this dress looked fabulous all by itself, which is why I kept the styling minimal. I paired it with a comfortable pair of sneakers to complement the casual theme.

In case you haven’t been following me on social media, here’s a formal introduction to my brand new Balayage-Ombre highlights! I got the hair colour done before my birthday, but didn’t really discuss it earlier (in my birthday post). It’s a copper brown shade that has blended like a dream with my naturally black tresses. You have to try it out if you’re looking for some change that isn’t over-the-top.

Coming back to the styling, I accessorized the dress with my pastel stud earrings and 3-finger ring. While I normally love chandeliers and statement earrings, I didn’t want to take away from the simplicity of the dress, hence I stayed away from those pieces. But if YOU feel like it, go ahead and add a touch of glam in the form of glitzy, statement baubles! I recommend stacked bracelets with an interesting timepiece and crystal ear jackets.

I kept the makeup subtle too, with nude shades of eyeshadow, light pink blush and a pinkish-nude lipstick. That really is my favourite kind of makeup, but you don’t need to restrict yourself. Feel free to don a cat-eye liner or a deep coral lip hue. Make sure you pick one though; don’t forget, this is a day-look.

This was such a fun, laid-back, yet classy look that I had a blast while shooting it! Plus, I have my own camera now (at last!) making the whole process much easier to manage. Special thanks to my baby brother for being my in-house photographer and for putting up with my endless demands!

Stay tuned for Look 2!
