When it comes to make-up, M.A.C is usually my first choice. Their eye make-up is great for people like me who wear contact lenses on a regular basis, their foundations and lip colours don’t damage skin, and they are also committed to the environment with their Back to M.A.C program. In fact, I recently went to the store with 6 containers of almost empty MAC blushes and eye-shadows and was rewarded with a free lipstick, which I was allowed to choose from their wide variety of gorgeous colours (except the Viva Glam lipsticks, because their sales provide to organizations that help people living with HIV/AIDS).

As I can never really go to MAC and return with just one item, it should come as no surprise that I ended up purchasing a few other (much-needed) products as well. Out of those, two lip colours made it to my favourites list for regular wear, especially during the Summer. Of course, I couldn’t resist the urge to share them with you all.

No make-up kit is complete without a nude lip colour. MAC’s collection boasts of both matte and glossy nude shades. The one that caught my eye was the MATTE lipstick – Kinda Sexy A93. This shade works really well for the summer because of its slight orange undertone. The best part about it is that, unlike most matte lipsticks, it doesn’t make your lips feel dry. Whether you’re going for an au naturel day-time look or an evening look, which aims to highlight your eyes; this lip colour will not disappoint.

The other lip colour I can’t get enough of is the Lustering A83 from MAC’s LUSTRE (or glossy) collection. A shade of pink which is neither too loud nor too understated, this one is truly the bee’s knees! Its rich and glossy texture is perfect for the days when you’re in a hurry or just can’t be bothered to spend a lot of time on the rest of your make-up. Highly recommended for skin tones that range on the cooler side.

Rating: Kinda Sexy – 4.5/5, Lustering – 5/5

Final verdict: Priced at Rs. 990 each, these lipsticks are totally worth it – they are long-lasting and easy to apply. Both shades have a supple texture and are most definitely apt for the season. I purchased them from the MAC store at Inorbit Mall, Malad in Mumbai, India; but I’m pretty sure they must be available at other MAC stores and counters too.
