I’ve been sharing a lot of beauty posts of late and have also been venturing a bit into food. However, due to other commitments, I haven’t been getting the time to shoot for an outfit post. I will try my best to do one before the year ends though! There will be more of food and beauty related posts coming too. Plus, I have a revamp for the blog in mind; make sure you keep following to stay in the loop!
I barely experiment when it comes to my hair because I’ve suffered the consequences of trying new products in the past. I usually choose to stay far away from hair sprays and mousses and use the blow-dryer only when I have no other option. So when TIGI wanted to send me one of their products for review, I was a tad apprehensive. Now I thought I could let my guard down this one time since TIGI is a well-known, reputable brand. Thankfully, the thickening spray they sent over did not disappoint!
The TIGI Bed Head Superstar Queen for a Day Thickening Spray* works on both wet and dry hair. The recommended method on the bottle is spraying it close to your roots. You can follow it up with the Superstar Blowdry Lotion. You can also go all out and spray the product all over your locks instead! As it is supposed to work best when used with heat, I decided to try it while blow-drying my freshly-washed tresses.
After washing my hair and towel-drying it, I applied a little bit of Kérastase Nutritive Nectar Thermique to the ends for heat protection. I separated my waves into different sections and evenly sprayed the Superstar Thickening Spray close to the roots. First, I blast-dried each section after spraying on the product. Then I did an overall blast-dry with my hair flipped upside down.
The result I got was not what I was expecting!
The spray promises thicker looking hair that “just won’t quit” and that’s exactly what I got! The result was pretty instant – I saw my damp tresses magically turn thick and voluminous with fuller body and lift. I already have thick hair, but this turned up the volume much more! Not only that, unlike most hair styling products, the spray doesn’t feel sticky or leave any reside. The other bonus is the fact that it smells great!
The only downside is the nozzle can clog sometimes, so you have to make sure you rinse it with warm water when that happens.
Final verdict: Priced at Rs. 1100 for 311 ml., the TIGI Bed Head Superstar Queen for a Day Thickening Spray is now officially one of my favourite styling products. You can use it without the blow-dryer too for a quick volume boost and lift. Personally, I think the bigger the hair, the better, especially when you’re getting ready for a night out. So while it is a great solution for those with thinner hair, I’d recommend it to people with all hair types and textures!
