Whether it’s spring, summer, monsoon, or winter, floral prints never go out style. Couturiers and stylists may add a new spin to the trend every now and then, but the flower continues to shine with all its glory almost every season.
While I do have a soft corner for neutrals, there are times when I just HAVE to liven up my closet with colour! And what better way to do this than with the help of nature-inspired motifs and prints?
I snagged these gorgeous floral printed trousers from London a while back. They’re extremely comfortable and can be paired with so many different options!
In this case, I chose to go with my black formal peplum top. The silhouettes balance out and complement each other, with the peplum adding some flare to the straight, fitted look. You could try a crisp white shirt, a lacy blouse, or perhaps a plain tank.
Usually, I like to let one element stand out and keep the rest of the outfit subtle. However, this time, I wanted to highlight the flower power, which is why I decided to carry this über chic floral sling bag from Style Fiesta!
I strongly believe accessories can make or break an outfit. Keeping in mind that the look was going to be dressy and semi-formal, gold hoop earrings and a statement watch made perfect sense. I also wore a statement ring (my go-to bauble always and forever) on the other hand.
If you like, you can wear stacked bracelets along with the watch to make your outfit a lot more funkier.
Now we all know stepping out in the sun without sunscreen and sunglasses is a big no-no. I’m pretty sure you’ll take care of the sunscreen part, so I’ll just move on to the sunglasses. With retro styles making a comeback, it’s hard to fight the urge to get one of each (I know I struggle everyday!)
But, if it came down to picking a single pair, I’d definitely go with tinted circular shades, like the ones I’m wearing here. They effortlessly take the outfit up a notch!
Completing the ensemble with a pair of heels was a no-brainer. These pointed black ankle strap wedges are not only stylish, but they’re also very easy to walk in! You can go ahead and opt for stilettos or pumps, maybe even try something in nude or white.
My aim was to create a look that could be taken from day to night. Honestly, you can even make this work at your office if you just throw on a blazer (sans the statement ring, of course, unless you work in a more creative industry). However, if you want to push it further and inject some edge into the outfit, I have just the solution for you!
I’ve been meaning to try out body chains since forever. Thankfully, my wish finally came true and I got the opportunity to source this glam gold shoulder chain. It takes the look to rockstar status instantly! Wear it with a backless blouse, an off-shoulder dress, or simply a tank top; just make sure you flaunt those shoulders!
Coming to the makeup, I stuck to my usual winged liner, glossy pink lips and slightly blushed cheeks. Though I did skip the kohl I usually apply to my waterline, as I didn’t want my eyes to look too smoky or dark. Also, I painted my nails a bright teal colour to go with the floral prints.
