I’m a ’90s kid, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that I often end up going back to the decade for fashion inspiration. While I cringe at most of the trends from that time (CANNOT do baggy rock band T-shirts), there are some elements that I like to incorporate in my wardrobe. Not to forget, ’90s fashion is making quite the comeback for Spring/Summer 2018. Hence, this time around, I thought I’d channel  Cher Horowitz and make plaid the hero of my look!

A-line skirt? Check. Plaid print? Double check! Yes, I did find the perfect ’90s style skirt. The next step was to pair it with a top that not only represented the decade, but also complemented the skirt without stealing the show. Luckily, I found just the solution – a black one-shouldered crop top.

For makeup, we decided to focus on black eyeliner and mascara and avoided eye shadows. The dramatic ’90s wing and a dark maroon lip colour further enhanced the look. As a tribute to that time’s popular textured hair, we opted for soft curls in the front and left the rest of my tresses straight.

I truly believe that no look is complete without the right accessories. As I wanted to add a touch of luxury, I turned to gemstone jewellery. Any other jewellery options may have spoilt the classy undertone of the ensemble. The key was to keep it simple with green gemstone pendulum earrings and an onyx bracelet. Finally, I threw on my strappy wedge sandals to complete the look.
